Reports on innovative or cost-effective projects funded and implemented in elementary and secondary education following the recommendation of the Council on Quality Education. The bulk of the projects concentrate on a few areas of interest: early childhood and family education, especially parenting and basic skills; education for the mentally and physically handicapped; environmental and animal education; gifted student programs; health education; multicultural and diversity projects, including African-Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, women, and world cultures; music and foreign language projects; rural and small school projects; technology education, especially cable television, satellite, and computer education; as well as vocational programming. Most, though not all, projects fall into one of the above categories.
